Dawn’s Place
Philadelphia’s first residential recovery home for adult women recovering from sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, opened in 2009. Dawn’s Place runs a structured year-long therapeutic program for a small cohort (about eight women). Services include 24/7 on-site staffing, trauma-informed individual and group therapy, peer mentorship, art and music therapy, mindfulness, case management, pro bono legal aid, education and career support, life-skills coaching, health-care access, and help securing independent housing. The program has strong Catholic involvement through the Sisters of St. Joseph and Medical Mission Sisters, and serves women 18 and older. It is a placement resource, not a public tip line.
